Archie Shepp's activity during this period is phenomenal. After his Panafrican festival performance in Algiers on July 30, he recorded one after the other, several albums for BYG, "Poem for Malcom" on July 14, "Blasé" on July 16 and "Yasmina" on August 12.
Shepp said: "I learnt from Charlie Parker that music can convey a verbal message" and this record is the demonstration.
